Pantone Color of 2013 | Emerald Green

"Pantone LLC, an X-Rite company and the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, today announced PANTONE® 17-5641 Emerald, a lively, radiant, lush green, as the Color of the Year for 2013."  ~ Pantone, LLC

Now I am not going to lie - my heart sank a little today. This is not going to be my favorite year of color. (I loved, loved, loved Tangerine Tango.) This Emerald is a little 80's for me - I don't see the "lively, radiant" vibe. I see a more subtle, muted version of green. But with a little artistic license and blending of shades I think I can make it through the year!

The good news is, like shades of grey, just about any color will stand out beautifully against this Emerald; and much like those of you who love blue - Emerald fabric (and the actual Emerald Gem!) is your best way to incorporate it in your wedding day!

It's not easy being green...but have no fear the Authority on Color isn't going to let us fend aimlessly! Here are some color combinations you can expect to see on the runway via the Pantone Fashion Report. You can easily see how such colors will make beautiful floral combinations to highlight the color of the year.
Even the pros are having a hard time staying on color point with this particular shade...but I applaud the effort! Check out this Wedding Inspiration post by Leila Khalil of Huffington Post, Mixing and matching greens is the way to go! (So psyched I have 2 green textured weddings underway already for next year!!)

Happy Thanksgiving | Vintage Napco

Family, Champagne, a Vintage Napco Turkey Planter, & Reservations for Dinner = PERFECT Thanksgiving.

I couldn't resist so I whipped up a little something for us! {Yeah, sometimes florists bring flowers home...}  Happy Thanksgiving!

Style Studio | Color Me 1970

The Style Studio took a little road trip to NYC last month. We had a bunch of client meetings so we made a day of it - starting at the Flower Market. I had hoped to get some Wintery Bouquet's made, but alas, we were too early. Everyone was still way into fall. So I scooped up these gorgeous Rose Hips, Fuzzy Thistle, Fever Few and a collar of this Umbrella Fern (recent obsession) and was on my way. We headed to Gal Pal and NYC Photographer's studio Sofia Negron in Astoria for the shoot, she was amazing! I love this weird couch we found in the hallway of her building - it was 'well loved' and so is this bouquet.
Once this baby was done I felt like it looked like something I would have work in the 70's. Some type of flared blue corduroy number with small daisy printed blouse and red leather wedge shoes.

Now - speaking of the obsession - I have been envisioning a bouquet of all Fever Few - with a collar of the aforementioned Umbrella Fern. I'm not sure how successful it was...but I still like it! (Sofia, not so much, but she humored me and captured some lovely images so I could emotionally move on.)
(I am so making this again!)

Thank You Notes....

I really love getting "Thank You" notes in any form (I need to get better at writing them...they really make a difference!) Blair made our Monday...with this note. I can't wait to post the pictures from her wedding on Saturday at the Please Touch Museum.

Dear Judith ~
We just wanted to say thank you again so much for the beautiful floral arrangements and attention to detail at our wedding.  You made the night even more beautiful and magical than we could have imagined. From the chuppah to the flowers on the cake, your lighting and table linen suggestions, everything was so gorgeous. Thank you also for dropping the flowers off at the Loews, it was wonderful to be able to enjoy the beautiful arrangements for another day! We received so many compliments at the wedding and gave your name out to several of our guests so hopefully we will see you again soon at other events. I believe you are doing the floral arrangements for our friends wedding in March so we look forward to seeing your work then. Thank you for working so well with my father in law, we are all so grateful! I hope you enjoyed the rest of your weekend!

All the Best,
Blair and Marc

Amy & David | The Westin, Philadelphia

I love getting emails like this - especially after such a hard week! I am up late catching up on paperwork & this note made my night: "Hi Judith,  I just wanted to say thank you again for everything.  The flowers turned out so beautiful and everything looked so amazing!!! Here are some photos from our photographer.  Thanks again, Amy & David."  Thank YOU - A & D. (Now to find out who the photographer was so I can credit appropriately - stay tuned!)

I love the detail of Amy's dress and the way the lavender shades play against her dress as well as the aubergine of the bridesmaids. Lavender was a hot color this summer - wonder what next summer's color will be...!

Style Studio | Color Me Fall

OK - so I have to be honest...we can't actually get some of these flowers in the current season (like the fluffy yellow Acacia Dealbata) ...but some of the items could pull off your dream Fall decor. I love the bouquets so much I thought we could use it as a color tool today (and some eye candy!) Thanks again AMC!
Packed with goodies we have yellow Craspedia, Leucadendron, deep pink Ranunculus, delicate Bupleurum and clusters of Bush Ivy with it's berries.
Loving this lace I found in a pile full of trim...I'm gonna use it everywhere this season!
And a little less 'weedy'....but still packed with vibrant color!

Style Studio | Autumnal Equinox

I thought we could celebrate the First Day of Autumn (aka Autumnal Equinox) with some pretties in the studio...having AMC's new studio in Bryn Mawr is getting a little too convenient!

Listen kids, Fall doesn't have to be boring -or orange, red and yellow for that matter! This lovely has a ton of texture and shades that add to the richness of the season with a 'just gathered' elegance. I love the pop of blush in the ribbon wrap. We tucked in some silvery grey Tillandsia, striking Paphiopedilum orchids with an amber and burgundy blush, scattered a few white Israeli Phlox finished off with fistfuls of Bush Ivy with their black berries still intact.
 Have pretty - will travel!

Lis and Ryan | Philadelphia Country Club

We coordinated such a beautiful wedding day for Lis and Ryan yesterday from the ceremony at St. Thomas of Villanova to the reception at Philadelphia Country Club - and holla - an after party that rocked on until 3am! Campli Photography captured all of the moments and Cord 3 Films caught the action on film. Andre from Valley Forge Flowers did not disappoint and even secured Lily of the Valley for Lis' bouquet! The scent (and site) was amazing.

More to follow when pics/film are available! Until then this sweet thank you made my day today:
You were incredible last night! Thank you and Megan so so much for all your hard work. Ryan and I had the time of our lives and couldn't be happier with our big day. You guys gave us the chance to relax and enjoy every single moment of the day. We are so glad we had you!!!
Thank you! The Mosses

OMG! Sydney was a QTPI with a VBS and DDG in her dress! CUL8R when the sneak peaks are out! XOXOXO

Style Studio | Happy September

Hmmm, who was on my mind when I was on this shoot...hmmm...well we couldn't get Michael Ann any Kumquats for her wedding but they were available for this little lovely. Touches of Forget-Me-Nots are such a perfect accent to the orange fruit and the roses. And who doesn't like a little grosgrain against some tropical leaves? Hello pretty! You can see more details to the right in the Style Studio slide show, thank you AMC Photography!

Michael Ann & Carl | Style Me Pretty Feature

We got such great news from Sam, owner of Pink Hedgehog Photography,...Michael Ann and Carl's wedding was picked up by Style Me Pretty today! The ceremony and reception took place in the Bride's "Home State" at Cypress Grove Estate House in Orlando Florida. I may have accidentally/on purpose made her bouquet bigger than she asked (she's a floral designer...it has to look good!) but the colors were spot on for her dream pallet and I'm not sure they could have been more feminine, more Michael Ann or more Florida! Sam captured all of the details from the vintage inspired printed materials to the tender moments they had alone...you have to check out the SMP Photo Gallery of the day (5 pages worth!) Thank you Sam!
I readily admit I had no idea what "Corn Hole" was until I met these two - but everything had their personal touch and handicraft detail...yep, they made their own game!
Their Wedding + Invitations + Paper Goods were designed by Kristin Weight of Mountain Paper Design Studio and set the tone for the vintage Floridian feel:

Jenna & Anup | Galeria Artesano

It was such a delight to be part of Jenna and Anup's wedding this summer. Angela Malicki coordinated their day and Ivan Roa Osuna made sure every detail from art to cuisine was in place at Galeria Artesano. Thank you Lori & Neville of Stringer Photography for sharing these lovely moments! Judith Campbell and Campbell Studios created some feminine bouquets and styled centerpieces that fit the space as well as Jenna's personal sense of style! Jenna looked beautiful, Claudia Seyler Make Up by There are too may pictures to pick just one favorite!
And these don't really have much to do with flowers - but are such great examples of Stringer Photography's style I couldn't resist. Thank you for sharing these images on your blog Lori & Neville! The last one should be in a magazine!
